Barcode Usage Guide

Learn how to download, extract, print, and assign your EAN & UPC barcodes after purchasing from RetailBarcode.com. If you haven't placed an order yet, browse our barcode packages.

Access Your Barcodes Instantly

After completing your purchase, your files are immediately available in your personal account. Simply log in and navigate to the Order History tab on your dashboard.

From your Order History dashboard, you can click:

  • Invoice To view or print your official billing receipt.
  • Cert To download your official Barcode Certificate of Ownership.
  • Assets To download the ZIP folder containing all your high-resolution barcode images.

1 Download & Extract Your Assets

When you click Assets, you will download a ZIP file named according to your barcode number range (e.g., 726872116846–0726872116899.zip).

How to Extract
  • Windows: Right-click the file → Select "Extract All"
  • Mac: Double-click the ZIP file to extract automatically
Inside Your Folder
  • EAN-13 & UPC-A Images (JPEG, PNG, SVG)
  • TXT spreadsheet of all numbers
  • PDF Ownership Certificate
Tip: Keep your extracted folder stored safely on your hard drive or cloud storage for future product launches.

2 Incorporate the Barcode into Your Design

Send the extracted image files to your graphic designer, or place them directly into your product packaging artwork yourself.

Recommended Dimensions
  • Minimum Size: 30 × 21 mm
  • Maximum Size: 74 × 51 mm
  • Use SVG format for lossless scaling.
Design Best Practices
  • Use "ladder" (vertical) orientation for curved bottles/cans.
  • Never print across box folds or seams.
  • Maintain the white "Quiet Zone" on the left and right edges.

3 Test and Print

Before committing to mass production, always print a single physical sample of your packaging. Scan it using a standard barcode scanner or a smartphone app to ensure the lines read correctly without distortion.

For major supermarket chains or international exports, we highly recommend requesting a formal verification report prior to large-scale printing.

4 Distribute to Retailers

Once printed, that specific barcode number is permanently assigned to that exact product variation (flavor, size, color). When you supply your items to a retailer, you provide them with a spreadsheet linking your barcode numbers to your product details so they can upload it to their Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.

Typical Data Retailers Require:
Barcode Number Product Name Brand Name Size/Weight Wholesale/Retail Price

Note: RetailBarcode.com does not require your product data at the time of purchase. You own the numbers and assign them internally whenever you are ready.

5 Optional Global Registration

Option A: Do It Yourself

You can manually register your numbers on public lookup databases (like GTIN Lookup) to improve Google visibility and smartphone app recognition.

  • Free to execute
  • Requires technical data entry
Option B: Let Us Handle It

Save time and guarantee accuracy by letting our specialists index your products globally on major public registries.
